Where were you at in 06 when Port Of Miami came out? Well “Hustlin'” was killing the air waves along with “Push It” and “Blow” Jeezy and Hova hopped on the remix to “Hustlin'” as Jay-Z and Shakir Stewart welcomed in the era coming in with Jeezy and Rick Ross as the top dogs of Def Jam. Now currently signed to Epic Records the MMG boss has built a solid discography over the years. This shit is no different as he makes his tenth solo album and let’s see if the sequel lives up to the hype.

“Act a Fool” (featuring Wale)

This came out with a bang. This is pretty much your typical Rick Ross song. Hard ass trap beat with a funny ass hook. Wale doesn’t necessarily fit the song but he did his best on here. And that’s what’s up Ross for putting the boy Wale on track 1. I like this shit.

“Turnpike Ike”

Although Wale rapped over this beat already for “Groundhog Day” Ross puts his own twist on this shit. Adds a little pimp shit to this Jake One classic. Ross bodied this shit. This is among a top 15 Ross songs ever. Book it. Fucking fire.

“Nobody’s Favorite” (featuring Gunplay)

The only flaw is this is missing a hook. But Ross and Gunplay continue their dope ass chemistry that they have had over the years. Gunplay bodies this shit shows that he one of the more underrated rappers from Miami.

“Summer Reign” (featuring Summer Walker)

This is some smooth ass shit. Reminiscent of the 90’s Rap and R&B collaborations. Now Ross floats over this shit quite well. As the woman who has that Beyonce type of attention over the females at such a young age Summer Walker kills this shit over the “SWV- Rain” sample.

“White Lines” (featuring Dej Loaf)

Ross and DeJ are so awesome together. I think they need to do an album together. Another smooth ass song reminds me of his other joint “Super High” I really fuck with this one heavy.

“Big Tyme” (featuring Swizz Beatz)

MAN FUCK! This is hip hop you bitch ass niggas! Just Blaze delivers the casket and Ross and Swizz deliver a body on here. Rick Ross flexes his vernacular as an underrated MC on here and you can tell he bought some energy that he usually doesn’t bring because this beat here will even make Blueface catch the beat.

“Bogus Charms” (featuring Meek Mill)

Man this is another great one. Meek Mill really killed this shit ya’ll this song is crazy from top to bottom. I don’t know who son is on the hook but he did a great job killing it man. Nothing else more to say about this one man.

“Rich Nigga Lifestyle” (featuring Nipsey Hussle and Teyana Taylor)

This song is incredible. Haha Nipsey clowned 6-9 faggot ass on this song hahahahahahahaha! But he did pretty good had a great laid back tone. Teyana does what she does best man which is kill shit. And Rick Ross set the tone on this song.

“Born to Kill” (featuring Jeezy)

Man, it’s good to see these two niggas cool this goes quite well and fits right in with their dope ass collaborations from the past like “War Ready” “Hustlin’ (Remix), and “Big Boy Talk”. This shit is pretty good not the best song on the album but that is very tough as good as the project is.

“Fascinated”

This a good ass song. As Rick Ross pretty much raps about having many moments of clarity and reflecting on his past.

“I Still Pray” (featuring YFN Lucci and Ball Greezy)

Although this the weakest song on here because of Lucci LMAO! Rick Ross continues to add substance and weight to this awesome ass album. Ball Greezy low key kind of underrated to me.

“Running the Streets” (featuring A Boogie wit da Hoodie and Denzel Curry)

I loved the concept of this record man. Definitely belongs on one of them black shows. Ross delivers some game on here and A Boogie continues to kill the hook. But the standout part of the song was when Denzel Curry decided to drop one of the hardest verses of the year on here.

“Vegas Residency”

This another one of those vintage Rick Ross songs. Although he is very braggadocios on this song he also reflects on the moments where his life almost ended.

“Maybach Music VI” (featuring John Legend and Lil Wayne)

This track sparks a lot of controversy fam because Rick Ross unknowingly put Pusha T & Lil Wayne on the same song along with John Legend. Knowing the history between the two rappers. The rapper Lil Wayne once said “Fuck Pusha T and everyone who love him”. So allegedly Wayne said keep me on the song but if you keep Pusha verse on there “lose my number” so he chose the Wayne verse despite the relationship that Ross has with Pusha. But however I never heard the Pusha verse the Wayne verse good but I bet Pusha caught a fucking body. Anyways this ain’t that bad. Although the other Maybach Records are tough to beat buddy. But this version not bad and is the 2nd one Lil Wayne has been a part of.

“Gold Roses” (featuring Drake)

This is a great closer Ross and Drake is fire and ice on this bitch. Ross kills his verse as Drake floats on this thing. This beat is fucking incredible too. Definitely a slow grind for your mind.

Overall, this is Ross’s best album. No reach, no cap, all facts. Teflon Don is a classic as well but this one Ross is at the top of his game in rare for the only thing that was missing was the Hov or Nas feature like usual but isn’t that crazy that those two wasn’t featured and still delivered a classic. I think that this is the best combo of songs that Rick Ross has put together and Ross rose up the ranks as one of the greats after this one.
