Welcome back, I’m back with a new review. Resurrection of the pen. But as far as Megan Pete goes she has had her share of issues and adversity to overcome. The loss of her mother and a contract situation with her label who almost stopped “Suga” from dropping but with the Grace of God. Meg and the Hot Girls have prevailed and she’s ready to release new music so let’s get into it.

“Ain’t Equal”

This is unapologetic, brash, and raw. Megan expresses all that she’s been through since “Fever” and the most personal she’s ever gotten on record. And gives a big “fuck you” to all her haters as she did on the track 1 on “Fever”. And Helluva from Detroit did this shit.

“Savage”

Megan is describing herself as a well rounded woman. She rules with her iron fist with raw shit talk. It’s blended with cockiness, sexiness, and confidence. And she brags all the way to the bank.

“Captain Hook”

This is funny as fuck as Megan brags about her man with a hook for a dick. Pretty much could be a club banger as the bass is heavy and Megan’s flow steams through this track and I view it as solid.

“Hit My Phone” (featuring Kehlani)

This is by far my favorite song on this project. Not even close for the other songs no disrespect it’s just that Kehlani and these phone ass records tho with these female rappers. LMAO! All jokes aside I can’t believe the homie Jake One did this beat who is more of a New York tunnel boom bap producer expanded his range on this one he flexed on that shit for real. Kehlani is a hook queen. And Megan woos the man of her dreams as she makes reservations to fuck him. One line that hit me was “I don’t know if it’s us Aquarius/That just like to have fun and ain’t scared to fuck” Real big facts.

“B.I.T.C.H.”

The first time I heard this I was like whoa this different. It samples 2Pac and Richie Rich “Ratha Be Ya Nigga” Helluva crafts his normal bass line as Megan spits her game about how she would just rather have a friends with benefits complex.

“Rich”

This is Megan Thee Stallion in rare form in her comfort zone. Up-tempo strip club beat. And trash talk with reckless endangerment this is dope but too fucking short this ain’t fair but life ain’t meant to be.

“Stop Playing” (featuring Gunna)

This shit definitely got that bounce. Wanna know why? Guess who’s back and reunited? Pharrell and Chad. The Neptunes. And they get a crack at Meg and Gunna’s collaboration. This shit is cool not the greatest song and Meg and Gunna are solid. But this beat is fire. And the hook is hilarious.

“Crying in the Car”

This is another Neptunes track and it’s a different look for Meg as she shows more depth on the song as she is backed by a gospel sample and this is overall another top track on this album.

“What I Need”

Meg really bought the big guns for this shit for real. Timbaland does this track and this is pretty much the love song on here. And the hard kicks and the backdrop of music is dope as fuck.

Overall, I believe that this is an upgrade from Fever. Fever was laced with multiple F-Bombs, cocky bravado, braggadocio, and rawness. This EP is different you finally see the peeled layers of Megan Thee Stallion that I asked for on Fever. But what Megan Thee Stallion needs to do is build on this momentum and carry over onto the next level. Meg is one of the top female MC’s and on her way to one of the top rappers in the game. She is popular and many follow her movement for better or worse. But as far as “Suga” goes it is sweet more than sour.
